Huxley

So I've been exploring the wonderful world of MMO's, in development and otherwise, due to my recent acceptance as a closed-beta tester for Lego Universe. According to mmorpg.com, a popular (and slightly less kid-oriented) mmo is Huxley, an MMOFPS

The gist of it seems to be: something explodes near earth, people mutate, factions form, monsters are created. You get to shoot the monsters!

Anyway, the main reason I made a post about them is the fact that their races are such delicious parody fodder. Observe:

ONE:

The pack of humans who managed not to mutate at all during the catastrophe. Obsessed with purity, their mission is to stomp out the mutants.

Question: Did humans not have eyes before the mutations began? Seriously, though, it's suspicious how you can barely see any of this guy; you'd think he'd be proud of his unmutated visage, not to mention muscular arms and chest. Maybe the suit has a gene scanner that runs every fifteen minutes to make sure he hasn't mutated? They should make that a 'feature': must maintain self-purity or be destroyed by police-if your own family doesn't get you first! It'd be punishing, but hey, who plays the humans anyway?

SYN:

This race has minimal mutations, resulting in beautiful figures and faces and powerful bodies.

Question: Are these the real humans? If not, how in the world is playing "One" fair, if "Syn" are apparently just humans but better? Must be that they're actually friendly and are therefore behind in the arms race. Anyway, this seems like the "elves" race. I'd go with it first, since their background is very "Not-One-y" and their representative is actually attactive.

ALTERAVER:

Now for the real mutants. These guys are big and blocky, but have warm hearts.

Question: How are we supposed to tell he's a mutant with all that armor on? The hair is not necessarily weird; it looks like it's just tied up with string. Any dope can do that with hair gel. I guess his visage is just to horrid to show without an age prompt; that, or they can't breathe normal air anymore. Also, warm hearted? Really? I bet it's just a front to get visitors to come over so they can suck their blood. Also, Dwarves! They should definitely be the best at mining.

Alternix:

This final race is supposedly the most mutated, because of their hair and skin.

Question: How does skin color count as a mutation? "One" definitely sound like Nazis now. Also, if they're so mutated, I wouldn't be surprised from this picture if one mutation turned out to be "allergy to clothing in the middle chest area." Or perhaps "inability to make clothing large enough to cover front." Signs seem to point to "fairy" type; more mutation may cause very different powers, or at least backgrounds, and since their representative is wearing the least armor, they probably die a lot.

Nevertheless, it sounds like a decent game. I may try it out, despite having time for no such thing.
